Terms of Use
Last updated October 13, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Andy Duenas for using Freya. Please read the subscription section closely if you buy Pro.
1. Agreement
By downloading or using the Freya iOS app, joining a trip through an invite link, or using this website (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service.
2. Your trips and content
- You keep ownership of everything you add, including names, notes, photos and expenses (“Your Content”). You give us a limited license to store, copy and display Your Content only to operate the Service for you and your trip members.
- Anyone with a trip's invite link can join that trip and see its content. You're responsible for who you share links with.
- Expense splits and balances are calculated from what members enter. Freya does not move money and isn't responsible for payments between members.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- post anything illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- upload malware, or try to access trips, accounts or systems you aren't invited to;
- scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Service, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service to send spam or for any commercial purpose we haven't approved.
We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these rules. To report objectionable content, use “Report” in the App or email contact@freyatripplanner.com. We review reports within 24 hours.
4. Freya Pro and Trip Pass
The App is free to use. Optional purchases unlock extra features. A Trip Pass unlocks them for everyone on one trip; Yearly unlocks them for you on every trip, and for everyone on the trips you organize while it is active:
| Product | Length | Price (USD) | Renews? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freya Pro, Yearly | 1 year | $19.99 per year | Yes, automatically |
| Trip Pass | One trip, for everyone on it, for as long as that trip exists | $5.99 one time | No |
Prices may vary by country and are shown in your local currency in the App before you buy.
Auto-renewing subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the same price unless we notify you of a change.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) after purchase. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- To restore purchases on a new device, tap your picture on the Trips screen, then See plans → Restore purchases, with the same Apple ID.
5. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, illustrations and the Freya name and logo, belongs to Andy Duenas. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
6. Apple-specific terms
If you got the App from the Apple App Store, you and we also agree that:
- These Terms are between you and Andy Duenas only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- Andy Duenas, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
- If a third party claims the App infringes their intellectual property rights, Andy Duenas, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party terms (for example, your wireless data agreement) when using the App.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and once you accept them Apple may enforce them against you.
Where these Terms are silent, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important, such as reservation details.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Andy Duenas will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
9. Ending these Terms
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. Sections 2 (licenses needed to process deletion), 5, 7, 8 and 10 survive.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you also keep the protections of the mandatory laws where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you in the App at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
12. Contact
Freya is made by Andy Duenas, an independent developer. For questions about these Terms or help with the App, email contact@freyatripplanner.com.
